What is the CPCSC?
Beginning Spring 2025, suppliers seeking to bid on select Government of Canada contracts may be required to obtain certification under the Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification (CPCSC).
The CPCSC is a mandatory initiative designed to ensure organizations meet stringent cybersecurity standards to protect sensitive data and systems involved in Canadian government and defence contracts. This program plays a critical role in securing the Government of Canada’s unclassified contractual information, strengthening the defense supply chain, and safeguarding the nation’s critical infrastructure.
- Level 1: Requires an annual cyber security self-assessment.
- Level 2: Requires external cyber security assessments, led by an accredited certification body such as MDOS Consulting.
- Level 3: Requires cyber security assessments conducted by the Department of National Defence.
