Larissa Koplyay earned a BA Honours from Queen’s University, Major in History and Minor in English. She is also an alumni and graduate of the University of Alberta’s Master of Arts in Communications and Technology program. She is creative, inquisitive, dynamic, and resourceful, all of which guide her efforts to deliver excellence in client services, advance research and develop content for publications, and liaise with stakeholders to achieve optimal results. She excels working with people in a team environment and in establishing and maintaining professional networks and partnerships, using insights from predictive analytics to support data-driven decision-making, leading to scalable solutions, increased market share, and revenue generation. Her leadership and skill set have been fundamental in driving her goals, achievements, and work commitments. Through research and the use of advanced analytics, Larissa has extracted data to make predictions and identify changes in trends in a metric or a particular market, developing and implementing search and sort algorithms, including SybilRank based algorithms.
She has a passion for CRM, sales, client interaction and facilitation, research, digital marketing, social media, transformative leadership, and strategic initiatives. She has explored the role that social media plays in increasing awareness and promoting advocacy in rural communities in the northern territories in her University of Alberta MACT capstone project. She used ethnographic research and advanced analytics to provide new insights to data in social media posts by finding patterns to identify threats in the ecosystem and analyze trends through sentiment analysis and SybilRank algorithms. She has recently co-authored an article for ASEM 2022 on Firms and Their Lifecycle: Circumstances That Impeded the Learning Process in Hi-Tech Markets and she is currently conducting further research regarding social media platforms. She enjoys keeping abreast of new advances in technology, new topic areas, and critical issues facing global companies.
Larissa currently works as Manager in Residence at the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance. She has significant experience working in the hi-tech industry in strategic planning and marketing. She has over ten years of practical experience applying communications and technology to her work as a business and marketing specialist.
